Speaking from my own experience, I have spent New Year night in Dubai, and I have spent many in Karachi. So, when I tell you that you should do everything to get a chance to have one in Dubai, I have my reasons (and you will find them as we move forward). Although keep in mind that this piece is written with a subjective point of view, and you might feel differently about one place. In which case, you should know that we've picked the destinations using the rigid rule devised on cost, general convenience, and ease of travel.

COVID-19 pandemic might've just turned 2 years old in 2022, but by December of the year, one thing was certain: people were itching to get out of their homes, and New Year provided just that opportunity to do it. According to one unofficial survey, almost $1 billion USD dollars were spent just within the U.S during the 25th-31st December. With a huge chunk of it on airplane fares. Sydney

Sydney is a unique blend of 1800s cowboy culture and a modern-day city built on the grounds of innovation. People you will meet there hail from different backgrounds. Due to the time zone, Sydney is the second city (after Auckland) in the world to enter the New Year, so if you want to be the first of millions, there is no better option.

I'm not sure who said it, but whoever did, they were not wrong. The Brazilians know how to party, and Rio De Janeiro is the perfect New Year destination to welcome the coming year. Unlike the other big cities that we've mentioned so far, there is no one particular place where celebrations are organized. The unique aspect about Rio is that there is a party everywhere.

You can go to beaches like Leme, Copacabana, and Ipanema. They are free of cost, and you can have the best experience both with a family or without one. Or you can try out the bars, pubs, or even clubs within the city. Most of them will be filled with people dancing and singing. There is no limit to what you can't do in Rio. As long as it is legal and you are above the age bracket, Rio is THE place to be for the New Year.

Now that we have developed a certain level of understanding about where the best parties are going to be held during the New Year's eve, let's put our focus on the U.S New Year Travel Destinations for a moment. Let's find out where, apart from the obvious choice (New York City), you can go with your friends to have a night to remember.

How about Miami? All of us have grown up playing GTA Vice City, but did you know that the city in the game was actually based on Miami? If not, you're welcome. If you were, don't you think now is the perfect time to put on your floral shirt and head for the beaches. Because that is what people in real-life Miami do on the 31st of December. On New Year's eve, locals head for the beach parties where events are organized for both charity and entertainment purposes. Just last year in 2022, Khalid and Marshmello performed at Fontainebleau Miami Beach.

However, if that doesn't sound impressive to you, you can always head for Vegas to have the time of your life. While there is no denying that Las Vegas doesn't need an excuse to stay up all night, on New Year's eve, it goes one step ahead and stays up all morning too. The routes to the famous Vegas strip are closed from 6:00 PM after allowing 300K people inside. This is done to ensure a smooth celebration that beckons at midnight. Unfortunately, it is not possible in the current economic situation to spend thousands of dollars, at least not for everyone. In which case, you don't need to spend huge bucks to make your dreams come true. You can just as easily visit the best New Year travel destination on a budget, and when it comes to budget, there is no better place to visit than Gulf countries and eastern EU nations.

Dubai

Remember when I said I will tell you my reasons for visiting Dubai, well here is my reason in a word: Burj Khalifa. The tallest building in the world is my favorite New Year Travel Destination. Every year, it welcomes the coming year with a grand spectacle of fireworks, and every year it leaves those in attendance in awe in front of its majestic structure.

However, another important factor which we shouldn't forget is that due to the rate of exchange for tourists coming from the West, it is quite cheaper to stay lavishly in Dubai during the festive period. Needless to say, the New Year Celebration held at Burj Khalifa is free of cost. Although to become that lucky person, you will have to stay inside the Downtown area after 6:00 PM. Dubai Mall is closed in the afternoon on New Year's Eve to ensure crowd control.

Bali

Famous for its natural beauty and scenic beaches, Bali can serve you with everything you might need on New Year's Eve. Especially for the couples who are hoping to celebrate their first New Year together. Much like Rio, celebrations are held all over the city, though with most of them primarily focused on themes around for couples and at beaches.

But just because you are going there alone or with the family, it doesn't mean it won't be fit for you. There are many clubs within the central part of the city where you can buy the tiered tickets for exclusive parties planned for midnight. Just the same way, it is possible to book a lavish resort for your family and welcome the coming year standing on your suite balcony with your wife and children overlooking fireworks and the finest scenery nature has to offer.

Budapest

I can't think of a better and cheaper European New Year Travel Destination than the Hungarian capital itself. Known for its diverse cultural heritage, Budapest is a city of charm and tradition. So, if you happen to be the type of person who takes pleasure in exploring a variety of tastes, you should book your ticket for Budapest today.

Unlike the other options that we've covered so far, the Hungarian capital's belief of an ideal New Year party doesn't revolve around the mega structure made of concrete and steel; instead, it takes pride in the history of the city and actively ensures to incorporate it at the time of celebration.

For instance, when the clock strikes 12, locals in Budapest believe that shouting loudly will ward off the bad luck from them in the coming year. Many also participate in thermal bathing during the night of the first day of the New Year. On occasion, Széchenyi Baths even keep it's doors open until 3 am to celebrate the New Year, so be sure to check in advance if the city's wildest pool party does appeal.

At the time I'm writing this, we are some odd 50 days away from the New Year's eve, which means you still have plenty of time to decide what and how you will reach your 2024 New Year Travel Destination. In any event, it is our recommendation that whichever place you choose to go, even if it is within the city you live in, please make sure that you are well aware of the logistics and walk-in conditions there.
