Flying to Glasgow
Glasgow is Scotland’s largest city—culture, nightlife, and a gateway to the Highlands. Two airports serve the area: Glasgow International and Prestwick. Checking both can save you money.
Getting there
Glasgow International (GLA) is the main airport, about 8 miles west of the city with good bus and train links. Glasgow Prestwick (PIK) is about 30 miles south and is a base for budget airlines—often lower fares, but a longer journey into town. Use the search form above to compare GLA and PIK for your dates.
When to fly
Peak times are summer and school holidays. For better value, aim for January–March or October–November. Midweek flights are usually cheaper than weekends.
If you're touring the West Coast or Highlands, Glasgow is a great starting point. Flying into GLA and out of Edinburgh (or the other way round) is easy and can open up more fare options.
