Flying to Dallas

Dallas is a major business and leisure destination in Texas. Two airports serve the metro: DFW (the huge hub) and Love Field (closer to the city). Comparing both is worth it.

Getting there

Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) is one of the busiest airports in the world, with flights to almost everywhere. Dallas Love Field (DAL) is about 6 miles from downtown and focuses on domestic flights—often with competitive fares. Use the search form above to compare DFW and DAL; the best choice depends on your route and whether you prefer a smaller airport.

When to fly

Peak times are holidays and summer. For better value, look at January–February or September–October. Tuesday and Wednesday are usually cheaper than weekends.

Love Field is limited by the Wright Amendment for some routes, but for many domestic trips it’s a great option—and the airport is much easier to get in and out of than DFW.
