Flying to Belfast

Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland—history, the Titanic Quarter, and the gateway to the Causeway Coast. Two airports serve the city: Belfast International and Belfast City.

Getting there

Belfast International (BFS) is about 20 miles northwest of the city, with bus links. It has the most routes and often the lowest fares. Belfast City (BHD) is much closer to the centre and has domestic and some European flights—handy if you want to minimise transfer time. Use the search form above to compare BFS and BHD for your dates.

When to fly

Demand peaks in summer and around St Patrick’s Day. For better value, aim for January–March or October–November. Midweek flights are usually cheaper than weekends.

Belfast is a great base for the Giant's Causeway and the North Coast. If you're renting a car, BFS’s lower fares can outweigh the extra drive; if you're staying in the city, BHD is very convenient.
